Nepal · Chitwan
Chitwan's SEO story is really two stories — tourism around the national park, and the large hospital and healthcare cluster Bharatpur has become known for.
For Chitwan, SEO usually splits into tourism-driven search (jungle safari, resorts, national park visits, heavily seasonal) and healthcare-driven search (Bharatpur's hospitals and medical colleges draw patients from across the Terai and hills). Arcetis, a Google Partner agency based in Pokhara, builds SEO plans around which of these a Chitwan business actually falls into, starting at NPR 20,000, rather than applying one generic local-SEO checklist to every client.
Bharatpur, the city most people mean when they say "Chitwan," has grown into one of Nepal's larger metropolitan cities, and its search traffic reflects two very different economies layered on top of each other. One is tourism: Chitwan National Park draws jungle safari and wildlife tourism, with lodges, resorts and tour operators competing for searches that spike hard in the October-to-March season and nearly disappear in the monsoon.
The other is healthcare: Bharatpur is home to College of Medical Sciences, Chitwan Medical College and several large hospitals that pull patients in from across the central Terai and even the hills, which means a meaningful share of local search here is "hospital near me" or specialty-specific, not tourism-related at all. A lodge and a hospital in the same city need almost nothing in common in their SEO plan.
A resort or safari operator that only thinks about SEO once high season starts has already lost months of ranking time — content, reviews and Google Business Profile activity need to build through the off-season so the site is positioned correctly when search volume spikes in October. Reviews matter disproportionately here, since most travelers are comparing lodges by star rating and recent photos before they ever read a word of website copy.
Targeting also has to account for two very different traveler types searching Chitwan: international visitors researching months ahead in English, and domestic Nepali travelers searching much closer to their trip, often in Nepali or mixed-language queries. A single keyword list rarely serves both well.
For hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centers, the audience is not researching months in advance — many searches happen under time pressure, from a phone, by a family member trying to find the right specialty or the fastest route. Accuracy (correct hours, specialties, directions, phone numbers) and a properly structured Google Business Profile often matter more than traditional content SEO.
Because Bharatpur draws patients from outside the city, ranking for broader regional searches — not just "hospital in Bharatpur" but searches from surrounding districts — is part of the plan, which is a different targeting problem from the tightly local searches a Chitwan retail business would chase.
Several months before peak season begins, ideally by the end of monsoon. Google needs time to index and trust new content and review activity, so work started in September for an October-to-March season performs far better than a last-minute push.
Hospital searches are time-pressured and accuracy-driven — correct hours, specialties and directions matter more than storytelling content — while tourism searches are research-heavy and happen months in advance. The keyword strategy, content type and even the tone differ accordingly.
Where relevant, yes — English-language content and review-focused optimization for international park visitors, alongside separate targeting for domestic Nepali travelers, who tend to search differently and closer to their travel dates.
Scoped per business starting around NPR 20,000. A seasonal tourism business and a year-round hospital or clinic are priced differently, since the scope of content, review management and ongoing work is not the same.
